Overview

FirstNote helps musicians prepare auditions. The app is designed so audition lists, excerpts, readiness notes, mock runs, and audio recordings stay on your device unless you choose to create an account or enable PracticePro Sync.

FirstNote does not sell personal information, show third-party ads, or track you across apps and websites.

Data Stored On Your Device

FirstNote stores your onboarding profile, instrument, audition preferences, auditions, excerpts, readiness scores, notes, mock run history, and audio recordings locally on your device.

Audio recordings are saved as local FirstNote audio files. They are not uploaded by FirstNote in version 1.

Accounts

Creating a FirstNote account is optional. If you sign in with Apple, FirstNote uses Firebase Authentication to store a minimal account record such as your Firebase user ID, Apple account identifier, display name, and email address when Apple provides one.

Auditions, excerpts, runs, notes, and audio recordings are not stored in Firebase account records.

Subscriptions

FirstNote Plus purchases and restores are handled by Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment information. FirstNote reads subscription entitlement status so the app can unlock Plus features.

FirstNote does not receive or store your payment card information.

PracticePro Sync

PracticePro Sync is optional. If you enable it and are signed in, FirstNote may log practice-session metadata such as duration, date, audition name, excerpt name, and notes to Firestore so PracticePro can show the session.

PracticePro Sync does not upload FirstNote audio files.

Microphone

FirstNote asks for microphone permission only when you record a run. If you deny permission, recording features are unavailable until you allow microphone access in Settings.

Deleting local data removes FirstNote audio recordings from the app documents directory.

Deletion

You can delete your account or local app data from Settings. Deleting clears onboarding state, auditions, excerpts, mock runs, recordings, account state, and pending PracticePro Sync records from the device.

If you have an active Apple subscription, deleting FirstNote data does not cancel billing. Manage or cancel the subscription through Apple.
